I get a call text message last Monday night:
“Can you work Wednesday 10-1?”
I actually have class then, but it just so happens that this past week, my RTV teachers were in Vegas for the NAB convention. (They “have” to go.) It works out that I went to the game that next night (Tuesday), then started working with the Greenville Drive as an intern. “What do I do?” you might ask.. well, we have cameras that are throughout the stadium, and I switch between those/tell them what I want to see, etc. and send a signal out to the suites. If the graphics guy at the other end of the booth likes what I have going out to the suites (say a replay or something), he can put it on the video board in the outfield. Pretty cool, if you ask me. So that’s for a month until camp. Who knew that so much went into baseball, even for a minor league team..
So now there’s possibly a chance I might come back to Greenville after camp.. it all depends on job openings in the area after the summer, but we’ll see. Anyways, since I have the internship, I probably won’t be able to blog much - maybe a couple of times here or there, but nothing on a regular basis for a while at least. If you must keep up, I’m on Facebook.. but even that will likely suffer some. Graduation is 25 days away, but classes end in 11. As of right now, it looks like I might only have 3 or fewer finals, so that’s a blessing by itself.
In case you’re wondering about the CRX, it’s still sitting in the garage. I’ve had a few bites from Craigslist (link should still work at least for a couple more days), but only one was serious.. everybody else says they’re coming, then just never show.. oh well.. maybe Andrew will have better luck with it. Anyways, I’m off to bed - I have one last interview in the morning then that class is done, so hopefully it’ll go well. It’s an “On the Street” interview about how people feel about the war in Iraq/Who they think will win the race for President. Should be quite interesting.
Congratz on the Drive. Good thing I dropped your name to JDew. I’d love to try TD-ing a Drive game. Maybe I’ll get a chance while you’re at camp.
Yeah - thanks for that. I used to be terrified of TD-ing, but 3 cameras aren’t too bad. Especially when there’s only maybe 100 people watching..
